Potsy. From High School State Champion, to College National Champion and American Expeditionary Force Champion of World War I. George Potsy Clark was a winner everywhere he went and only one challenge remained: NFL Champion.
From 1931 to 1933 Potsy had built a team in Portsmouth, Ohio that fought nose to nose with the mighty Packers and Bears but had fallen short each season. In today’s episode, Jamie and Charles explore Potsy Clark’s role in the birth of the Detroit Lions in 1934 and the subsequent events of the team’s first season.
